๐Class Analytics
Statistical analysis of class performance โ mean, median, mode, standard deviation, score distribution, and grade ranges.
Why Teachers Need It
Knowing the class average isn't enough. Analytics show you the distribution โ is everyone clustered around the mean, or are there two groups? This helps you decide whether to reteach or move on.
Key Benefits
- Mean, Median, and Mode computed automatically
- Standard Deviation shows how spread out scores are
- Grade Range distribution (90-100, 80-89, 75-79, below 75) shows performance bands
- Passing Rate calculated automatically
How It Works
- 1All statistics reference the Final Grade column in the Gradebook.
- 2Mean = AVERAGE of all final grades.
- 3Median = MEDIAN of all final grades.
- 4Mode = MODE of all final grades.
- 5Grade ranges use COUNTIF to count how many students fall in each band.
Example Workflow
โAfter midterm exams, you check Class Analytics. Mean is 82, but the standard deviation is 12 โ meaning scores are widely spread. The grade distribution shows 10 students at 90+ but 6 students below 75. You plan remedial sessions for the lower group while continuing with the main class.โ
Pro Tips for Teachers
- โขUse analytics after each major assessment to inform your teaching
- โขA high standard deviation means you may need differentiated instruction
