100% sourced from official DepEd materials

Every learning competency, content standard, and performance standard in this database was extracted directly from official DepEd Learning Systems curriculum guides and three-term Budget of Work PDFs — nothing here is invented or paraphrased. The Teaching Framework Library is based on established instructional design literature with references on each page. When in doubt, the original DepEd document is always the final word.

Guro Hub was built to solve a real problem: the new DepEd three-term curriculum is spread across hundreds of PDF files, and finding a specific competency means opening document after document. I set out to fix that.

The process started with gathering the complete set of official DepEd curriculum guides and Budget of Work documents across every grade level, from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Each competency, content standard, and performance standard was carefully extracted and structured into a searchable database. From there, I designed and built the interface — a clean, fast, teacher-first experience for searching, browsing, and planning lessons around the actual curriculum — using Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase, and deployed it on Vercel so it's fast and accessible to anyone, anywhere.

My hope is that this saves teachers real time — time better spent in the classroom than in a stack of PDFs.

Supabase powers the PostgreSQL database and file storage for all 21,000+ competencies and 220+ source PDFs. The frontend is a statically-optimized Next.js app deployed on Vercel for speed and reliability. Visual aids are sourced live from the Openverse API.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an official DepEd website?

No. Guro Hub is an independent, teacher-built resource — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Department of Education (DepEd) or any government agency. All DepEd materials referenced are publicly available government documents.

What data does it contain?

The platform indexes over 21,000 learning competencies extracted from 220+ official DepEd curriculum guide PDFs, spanning Kindergarten through Grade 12 — covering core subjects, MAPEH, TLE, and specialized senior high school strands under the three-term curriculum structure.

What is the Teaching Framework Library?

A professional learning center with 29 instructional frameworks — from classic models like 5E and Madeline Hunter to Philippine-contextualized approaches like ILAW and MATATAG. Each framework includes a step-by-step tutorial, classroom example, blank planning template, printable checklist, FAQ, and academic references.

Where do the visual aid images come from?

Images are sourced in real-time from the Openverse API, which aggregates Creative Commons-licensed content. Each result includes the creator name, license type, and source link. No images are stored on our servers.

Can I trust the content shown here?

All curriculum content is sourced directly from DepEd's published curriculum guides — nothing is invented or paraphrased. Teaching framework tutorials are educational guides based on established instructional design literature, not official policy documents. Always refer to official DepEd issuances for authoritative guidance.
